 1985年，由迈克尔·杰克逊和莱昂纳尔·里奇共同谱写，由美国45位歌星联合演唱的《天下一家》是一首旋律优美，意义深远的公益歌曲。1984年，迈克尔· 杰克逊和莱昂内尔·里奇听闻了英国歌手菲尔·科林斯和鲍勃·格尔多夫召集十余位歌手录制歌曲为非洲饥民筹集善款的义举后深受感动，于是他们合写了这首歌曲为非洲的人民献出自己的一份力量。这首歌呼吁人们团结在一起，向受苦受难之人伸出援手，创造一个更美好的世界。
